Andrea Radisic
I started TaeKwon-Do when I was 6 years old at London Colney, and I’ve never stopped loving it. I went to a demonstration with my dad, and as soon as I saw these amazing people flying about throwing kicks at each other I knew I wanted to start. I’ve been doing it for about 8 years and have met some brilliant people, learnt how to punch properly and actually managed to break some boards which I thought I would never manage.
Anyone can start TaeKwon-Do, there’s something for everybody. Personally I love sparring, which is where you go against a person the same grade as you and fight. There are lots of rules and regulations in place so no one gets hurt and in the end it’s just a lot of fun. I have recently just passed my 2nd Dan Black belt, which is one up from black. I had to wait 5 years until I was allowed to do it, but it was well worth the wait. As I got my black belt when I was only 9, I really felt like giving up for a couple of years and coming back to it because there was nothing to work for but with all the exciting competitions to do and the great work out I couldn’t stop. Everyone at London Colney club is like a massive family, and anyone who wanted to start a martial art should definitely go there.
Congratulations, Andrea on your great achievement from David Miles and everyone at London Colney Tae Kwon Do School. (07917 704687 for more info)
