Napsbury Sports
At last, we have reached the final stages of the lease for the Napsbury Park sports area being handed over to the Parish Council for management. The tennis courts, football pitches, small pavilion and changing rooms, and the cricket area were supposed to be provided by the developer at least two years ago, but a snagging meeting over 3 months ago identified many issues that needed to be addressed by Crest Nicholson.
Leisure officers at St Albans have been working their socks off to ensure the lease they hand over to the Parish , does not leave us with outstanding repair work and costs, and to bring the deal to a conclusion by the end of March.
A meeting has been held with potential users of the various sports areas and the next step will be to appoint a management committee, as part of the Parish Council’s London Colney Park Trust

This facility will be available for use by all villagers, and the Parish will ensure that the sports groups lining up to hire out the sports areas will need be able to: work co-operatively together, share what is available without one group dominating, and finally, accommodate individual and informal groups of residents. It will take time to get settle in but by summer this will be a valuable addition to recreation and sporting life in London Colney
