In recent years the Parish Council has :
Planted 80 trees around the village to commemorate those killed in the wars
Given Christmas gifts to parishioners who are over 80 or housebound and Given child friendly high visibility tags to all primary age children so they will be seen when walking to school.
Maintained excellent football pitches for use by local clubs. Erected new bus shelters near Haseldine Road and at the northern end of High Street. Organised millennium celebrations for the village - the best in St. Albans. Commissioned new railings for the Telford bridge.
Met regularly with the developers of the Napsbury estate to try and ease residents'problems. Met with Lafarge Aggregates to mitigate problems due to mining near the village.
 

All of these achievements are only made possible by the combined help of parish councillors, staff and all those volunteers who help make London Colney a thriving community.

Supplied basketball nets by the Library.
Given grants of over £5,000 each year to local voluntary groups, including Scouts and Meals on Wheels.
Supported parishioners threatened by flooding with practical help.
Funded publication of the London Colney News magazine. Published free guides to local footpaths and the natural environment (available from the Parish office).
