The Parish Council is seeking your comments on proposals for new play and exercise facilities at Shenley Lane Playing Fields. We have funding available for new youth facilities at this site.

Through discussion with local young people, youth workers and Community Police Officers, Groundwork Hertfordshire has established a local need for a multi-use games area (aimed at the 12 to 16 age group) and additional exercise equipment that could be used by young people and the wider community. Two options for the site have been put forward to the Parish Council and we would now like your feedback to help us decide on the best way forward. Posters inviting comment have been available on Parish Notice Boards and at community events over the last two weeks and nearby residents have received a leaflet. The proposed new facility will be additional to the existing children's playground. It is sited on the south west corner of the field, adjacent to the car park and clear of the football pitches. In order to ensure all site users and others are able to have their say we are extending the consultation period until Friday 25 July 2008. Large copies of the two proposed options (shown here) are available for viewing and comment in the Parish Office, 154 High Street, which will have extended opening times during the consultation period Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00.
